Query Irene Hernández Bermejo
Hello, my name is Irene Hernández Bermejo.
I am a physician, athlete, and nutritionist specializing in female hormonal health and sports nutrition.
To help you get to know me, sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing basketball at 6 years old; later, in college, I switched to running, and like many of us who get tired of running, I ended up in triathlon, which is what I currently practice and compete in.
As you can imagine, sports have always been a basic and fundamental pillar for my physical and mental health, and I have combined it with my professional life, so I perfectly understand the daily demands involved in both training and competition.
All of this, along with my medical training, has sparked my interest in understanding how nutrition and training interact, especially in female athletes, an area that I believe is still not fully studied and where there is still much to improve and start applying.
This has led me to train in nutrition and hormonal health in women, as well as in nutrition focused on endurance sports and triathlon.
Therefore, both from scientific evidence and my own personal experience, I have been able to verify how diet, training, and recovery influence performance and long-term health. I believe that all these factors must go hand in hand to maximize each athlete's potential, always enjoying the process.
My goal is to establish an individualized nutritional strategy for each person, adapted, in the case of women, to their hormonal cycle and physiological needs, in order to improve the athlete's performance and optimize their results.
